Kerry's Dodge Dakota

Kerry already had a custom exhaust on his Dakota, but it didn't fit right and the Y-pipe collector was not well-designed. So, he asked us to custom-mandrel-bend a new Y-pipe and to fit a new tip onto his existing tailpipe. This new crossover pipe follows the contour of the transmission pan, providing maximum ground clearance. The Y-pipe collector is a true merge design for better flow and a great fit. For Kerry's tailpipe and tip, we changed the bend profile to allow the tip to tuck-up higher underneath the bed corner.

We recommended a dual cat-back exhaust with a large-case Magnaflow, to allow the exhaust to have a straight path through the muffler with the additional sound absorption material provided by the 22" long case. 

Because the fuel tank is located on the driver-side, both pipes need to route on the passenger-side of the truck. Therefore, dual side-by-side rectangular mufflers will not fit in this truck application. We do not recommend fitting two mufflers vertically, because this can trap water (condensation) inside. We finished this exhaust by routing the dual tailpipes around the spare tire and exiting out the passenger-side behind the rear wheel. This provides a customized but clean appearance.

We recommended a dual cat-back exhaust with a large-case Magnaflow, to allow the exhaust to have a straight path through the muffler with the additional sound absorption material provided by the 22" long case.

Because the fuel tank is located on the driver-side, both pipes need to route on the passenger-side of the truck. Therefore, dual side-by-side rectangular mufflers will not fit in this truck application. We do not recommend fitting two mufflers vertically, because this can trap water (condensation) inside.
